We talk about our growing Lead or Plastic Mountains quite a bit. How many find they have a significant collection of paint as well? I just assembled and filled my second Paintier with Minitaire paints to rest along side my Valejo Air case, Foundry triad boxes and reaper master series paints. My first paintier is filled with really old GW, new Coat d'Arms, some craft paints and Cel vinyl.

I could stop adding paints any time I wanted. Really. grin

I retail both Vallejo and Coat d'Arms so "own" probably 150. But in reality I probably only use 50 or 60 regularly.

I probably own around 75 bottles, but that includes some duplicates.

DisasterWargamer Supporting Member of TMP09 Jun 2016 8:03 p.m. PST

Probably about 50 current paints and around 30 older paints I havent used in a while

Rich Bliss09 Jun 2016 8:06 p.m. PST

Since I tend to mix my own, I've only got about 24 tubes of Acrylic and another 12-16 bottles of craft paint for terrain projects, oh, and. 10 jars of Tamiya for armor.

Mako1109 Jun 2016 8:21 p.m. PST

Used to be quite large, but sadly many have dried up over the years/decades.

wrgmr109 Jun 2016 9:02 p.m. PST

Best guess: 150+

chuck05 Fezian09 Jun 2016 9:35 p.m. PST

well over a hundred. A mix of craft paint, vallejo, GW and privateer press.

Lee Metford09 Jun 2016 9:37 p.m. PST

Possibly a 100 or so. A mixture of acrylics, enamels and washes. Oh I forgot the spray paints …….

In pounds or bottles?

The Beast Rampant09 Jun 2016 10:31 p.m. PST

110-120ish. Mostly PPP, with Vallejo second (and growing), a little over twenty Citadel (though only three bought in the last 15+ years- two are pushing 30!).

Not counting spares, "mixing stock", and craft paint I use on basing and scenics.

Martin Rapier09 Jun 2016 11:05 p.m. PST

Enough to fill a shoe box plus a couple of dozen others in a drawer. Mainly Humbrol (still!) with an increasing proportion of Vallejo and a mix of others.

bc174509 Jun 2016 11:49 p.m. PST

Complete set of Vallejo, plus various others….say 200+

GarrisonMiniatures09 Jun 2016 11:52 p.m. PST

Enough to cover an area bigger than A3, mostly Vallejo.

Over 200 & all acrylics

Oh Bugger10 Jun 2016 2:30 a.m. PST

About 60 I think.

general btsherman10 Jun 2016 2:57 a.m. PST

I have about 160 bottles.

Axebreaker10 Jun 2016 3:02 a.m. PST

Easily 200+.

350+ acrylics, mainly a mix of Foundry, Reaper, Vallejo, Coat d'arms, Revell,(MP) Miniature paints & Humbrol Matt Scarlet grin

jeffreyw310 Jun 2016 3:11 a.m. PST

Way over 100…mostly Vallejo Model, Panzer Aces, Reaper, Foundry, Vallejo Game, artists acrylics, and watercolor, craft acrylics, washes, inks, some AK primer, Andrea, and finally, some Citadel acrylics and washes from the late '90s, which are still good.

IUsedToBeSomeone10 Jun 2016 3:47 a.m. PST

28,000….. but that's stock :-)

150 or so, but that includes the craft paint I do not use as much anymore.

razuse10 Jun 2016 4:47 a.m. PST

200 plus…Vallejo, GW, P3 and prob. 100 craft paints…damn, that is a lot!

FusilierDan Supporting Member of TMP10 Jun 2016 4:51 a.m. PST

100 – 150 and still could use some more. I don't like to mix my own colors.

Dashetal10 Jun 2016 6:21 a.m. PST

Sigh… Still looking for that perfect color of Brown Blue Green or whatever. So I have several hundred bottles. Some of the older green ones appear to have something moving in them. Strains of the sound track from "Little shop of horrors" seems to be emanating from somewhere behind a cob web covered bin behind the reds.

Hundreds! Out of control. I have FOUR of those revolving paintiers and every one is crammed way past orthodox capacity with various sizes and makes of paint. Hobby paints and craft paints alike. Excess bottles live in storage tubs. And I have NINE large tubs full of spares and hoarded stock under my paint table. Of course, half the time I pull out a replacement I find it's long since died of neglect. Money wasted after all. On the other hand, sometimes my twenty-year and thirty-year old stash pays off.

I lost count of the bottles, and just measure in "drawers". I'm up to 6.

Close to 250, all acrylics

Tassie Wargamer10 Jun 2016 8:49 a.m. PST

I currently get by with 36 pots and bottles of acrylic paint.

Cheers,

It might be best to just weigh it.

Oberlindes Sol LIC Supporting Member of TMP10 Jun 2016 11:58 a.m. PST

I have plastic shoebox-sized storage box with paints. There are probably less than 40 pots. I also have a banker's box with probably 10 or 15 cans of spray paint. That's it.

14Bore10 Jun 2016 1:10 p.m. PST

30 -40 so I'm beaten badly, but only painting a few different armies may be the reason.

slugbalancer10 Jun 2016 2:12 p.m. PST

Around 250. All but one are acrylics.

Zephyr110 Jun 2016 2:12 p.m. PST

140+. And quite a bit of yellow (many shades) that I'm finding difficult to use up… ;-)

Timmo uk11 Jun 2016 2:07 a.m. PST

My main palette is about 30 bottles. I have about the same number again in stock. I have a few enamels that I use for basing.

ViscountEric13 Jun 2016 8:01 a.m. PST

100 on the main rack, with forty extra, mostly duplicates and "my little pony" paint for the kids (I am currently using all their different shades of purple on one figure, though).

Almost all are craft paint, with a few Foundry, Army Painter, and Howard Hues.

Latest addition: a big pot of Citadel Seraphim Sepia. It's a perfect consistency I haven't seen from them in more than a decade. Worth the price.

Oldest paint: A jar of Ral Partha Aged Armour circa 1995, that's in better shape than some paints produced this year.

How large is your paint collection?

An order of magnitude smaller that my lead mountain

However neither number is anything to be proud of and I would not like to be audited

Part of my problem is every time I read a good article on painting I buy the paints mentioned ….
