I'm obviously feeling really picky tonight, but they were titled Provisional Rocket Detachments, not Batteries. They were quite skinny units personnel wise, 1 Officer and 23 men per Section (two per Det), and 1 Officer and 7 men at HQ, for 56 all ranks. Vehicle crews were only three men, Cpl and two Pvts, with an officer, Sgt, two radio ops and a rifleman for the Sec HQ. Det HQ was similar, but dropped the rifleman and added a cook, mechanic and armourer. That's for the July 1945 T/O, but matches with the report of Second Prov Rocket Det on Okinawa. 4th Det noted that each vehicle and trailer carried 108 rounds, so could only fire three complete salvoes before running dry. Surprisingly they had no dedicated ammunition supply vehicles allocated, just the dozen launchers.
