Impressive collection! I see what you mean about the size differential between the T-54 and Centurion. APC rides? Grelber |

Thanks for the gallery – nice shot of the Sentinel with a 17pdr (?). |

Thanks. Love to get there. |

I believe the Sentinel with 17 pdr is a mockup, as the 17pdr was to have been built on the second model hull and turret, only one of which was produced and is in the Australian War Memorial collection, fitted with a 25 pdr (ACIII Thunderbolt). link |

I see you didn't have much better luck with the lighting than I did. Did you try the shooting gallery? |

Yes they do APC rides. The Sentinel is a mockup, but effective. It was also good to see a couple of other unique Australian vehicles namely the 2Pdr on the Universal Carrier and the Australian version of the Sexton. Well worth the visit even more so in the future as more vehicles get on display. What I think is best is that it is a private collection and does not rely on the public to survive. Saying that some 33,000 have visited in the last 18 months, which is great given its location in Far North QLD. |

That's impressive. Just need to work on a reason to get to Cairns! |

Thanks for the advice on the Sentinel – being lazy should have checked Wikipedia first! Next time the War Memorial facility at Mitchell is open must go and have a look. I did not realise that a number of Sentinels were 'modified' and used as German tanks for the WWII Chips Rafferty Rats of Tobruk movie. |

@blacksoilbill – When I went in April, this WAS the reason I went. |
