I saw the following on the BBC News website = link

I know that a John Hammond used to own Skytrex and that he was a dentist; this John Hammond was a dentist and lived in the same town as Skytrex was based in.

Can anyone throw any light on this?

There's a discussion here:

I missed the discussion in January.

It would appear that his crimes have been punished with a well-deserved custodial sentence.

That most certainly is the ex-owner of Skytrex. 6 years eh?

My first job was working for John at Skytrex in the 1980s. And yes, he was a nice bloke, but he paid so poorly I went to GW & got a pay rise. And they were terrible low-payers pre-PLC, which shows how bad Skytrex was.

After being in business for 20+ years, when I look back at Skytrex, John was pulling some dodgy stunts even then. I just thought that was how business went, but it wasn't.

I'd just like to say none of this has any connection to the current Skytrex, it has different owners now and they're solid business people.

The local paper says a bit more.

Nice chap to speak with but obviously scum of the first order. He has robbed people in an unforgivable way. Burn.

The sad thing is, a million quid isn't even really that much money. Serious financial frauds commonly net a lot more than that, many millions. But he ruined a lot of lives stealing that million, including his own. Stupid and sad.
