"One thing that Citadel has never really done very well in 40k is to create alien modelss. Forget about the extensive list of aliens described in Rogue Trader. When you actually get down to looking at the models produced, up until around 1990, 40k aliens comprised of space elves (Eldar), space dwarfs (squats), space ogres (ogryns), space halflings (ratlings), space zoats (um, space zoats), space slann (er, space slann) and space orcs (orks). With very little imagination, GW had simply ported all of its fantasy races into the new setting; perhaps leading to references to 40k as a science fantasy rather than a science fiction game…"

But that is what it is supposed to be. Kind of like complaining about the new Batman vs. Superman movie because Batman is in it.

Just look at those prices! They are down in the range of some of the better historical ranges.

Notice the poses are not as dynamic as today. Not a lot of parts to glue together.

Fortunately … in 6mm sci-fi today … there are lots of aliens available. From CinC, DRM, EW, GZG, Darkest Star, etc. …

As mentioned, I think GW back then wanted to generally stick with their LotR/Fantasy themed races. Even for 40K. You know Elves, Orcs, Dwarves, Ratlings, etc. …

Whatever happened to the Piscean Warriors? (at 70p, take note!)

And the 'Ground combat trooper is, in fact, a 'Souther' from 2000ADs 'Rogue Trooper'

@John54 – a nort trooper also turned up in old RT blisters, too.

(I think they were meant for the old Rogue trooper board game (since they had that licence too, back in the day. I had 'em all, Rogue, Bagman, Gunnar, Venus, the major, the general, etc).
