Abso-damn-lutely. It's the difference between a heartbreaking, fully invested emotional performance by the woman who wrote the song, and a plastic "look at me" feat of overwrought, bombastic vocal acrobatics that completely misses the tenderness of the song, turning it into some kind of empowerment anthem completely at odds with the actual lyrics.

I thought Dolly was also incredibly gracious in her praise of the other singer, who after all did have one hell of a voice, no argument there.

But Dolly owns the song.
