Some people knock them, but there's loadsof character in many OG sculpts. These would also make good early saxons without the coffin chields

I meant to say the painting is very good too. Nice contrasts in clothng and simple but effective shields.

Ooooooo-er very pretty!
I like those a lot!

Thanks guys, yes Old Glory arn't half bad particularly at the prices you pay. The usual grip is that the bags containg lots of figures and can't be bought in small packets but these are ideal for bulky numbers of troops.

Any idea how they compare to the Patten sculpts from Gripping Beast?

Good stuff Sir….look the part

Class!

I shy away from using brighter colours in Dark Age armies, but you can't argue with the effect… barbaric finery at its finest and most barbarous!

PrivateSnafu, I have Old Glory and Gripping Beast in the same army but not in the same units. I have just painted up some Warlord generic plastic barbarian fugures and will put them on here when I get them based, they look pretty good too.

You've rebased them for what set of rules?

They look really great! Again I love the named warbands.

dragon6, rebased onto Impetus bases as I like the ability to decorate the base and vary the position of the figures but my rules of choice for ancients are 'To the Strongest'.
