I hoping for a plug-in kit that worked with the existing peg & post, rather than you having to chop up the minis.

I've long since done this with my formerly-clicky Crimson Skies planes.

I did that with the old ERTL plastic Star Wars Millenium Falcon and Rebel Transport – it certainly is a nice touch :)

Could you get by with putting the ball on an end cut from an extra peg, and just slide that into the model? Then leave the model stock?
