It's been numerous years of being out of the Weird War realm and it's high time I got back into it. I used to play AE:WW2 but there may be some new/better rule sets out there so I was wondering: What rules would you recommend for 28mm WWW2 gaming? Thanks!

Depends on what you want in your games -- Weird Science, Weird Occult? Both? Here's what comes to mind: * AE: WW2 (which you have): link * Secrets of the Third Reich: link * NUTS! War Without End: link * DUST: link * Achtung! Cthulhu!: link Then Bolt Action has some rules called Konflikt '47 coming out soon: link I'm biased towards NUTS! War Without End since I wrote it, but check them out and choose your style. Happy gaming! |

I use HotT for my WWW gaming, and it works fine for me. Terry |

I use SOTR because it combines super science (Tesla Rays, Zombie Gas) and supernatural (werewolves, vampires). I believe that West Wind (the publishers) are working on a revised version of the core rules and they have a pretty good selection of miniatures for the game. That said, I've play tested NUTS! War Without End and that's a pretty cool rule set, too. I've never played DUST but from what I've read it is pretty much dead, or at least on terminal life support. |

I am also going to suggest the Nuts! supplement. You will need the Nuts! rules and the Nuts! War Without End supplement, but the rules are excellent and the support via the THW forum is excellent. |

There are a couple of free conversion files for DUST and MekaTank figures, a DIY vehicle design kit, etc. War Without End lets you create pretty much any figure or vehicle you want, but doesn't have magic rules. link Here's an old battle report: link |

You might also take a look at Amazing War Stories by Rattrap Games and available through Brigade Games Miniatures. It is a supplement for the .45 System so you will need those rules as well. |

There's also "Geheimkrieg". from Wessex games. link geheimkrieg.blogspot.ca Never played it, but it's got some interesting ideas. It comes as a pdf, so it's a lot cheaper than most other rules. |

I just noticed, through the above blogspot link, a free Weird War II ebook, in case any one is interested. link Sure, you have to create a free Rebellion store account, but how can anyone pass up a title like "Nazi Zombie Army: Gotterdammerung"? The price is certainly right! |

There's also DP9's GearKrieg setting, though that's strictly superscience, no supernatural stuff. PDFs from DrivethruRPG, though DP9 may still have some hardcover books lurking around. |

If you want to play Gear Krieg in 28mm, I would go with the Victory Decision (ViDe) supplements. There are a few new infantry (i.e. super-soldier) units in the supplements. |
