Can't beat standing on the actual ground… |

In the case of Agincourt where is the "actual ground" ? Historians are uncertain and the archaeology is sparse, to say the least. Glad you enjoyed the visit Giles, in spite of French fuel strikes. |

We left for France not knowing about the fuel issue – thank god I filled the car before we left. Almost running on vapours when we got back to UK |

Nice to see all the restoration work has been done so well. Major improvement since I was there thirteen years ago! The uniforms display looks very good too. |

From what I can see, that is a strange diorama. Woods half covering the English wings of bowmen? I can see the necessity of portraying sequential moments in the opening battle together: the cavalry being driven off while the vanguard is approaching already in three columns. It looks like you used a flash on that glass case! Unfortunate. I drove right past the exits for both of these battlefields, almost ten years ago. And it royally peeved me to do so. No time! Our trip was one mad scramble trying to fit in what we had planned. There was no time to fit in "extra" battlefields. I didn't even get to see the Normandy landing sites. But I did see the Bayeux tapestry, my central goal for being in the "neighborhood" at all…. Thanks for sharing. |
