"The UK is set to send a Royal Navy warship to the Mediterranean to help tackle arms smuggling in Libya, Prime Minister David Cameron has announced. He told the G7 summit in Japan the UK was ready to take an "active leadership role" in helping Libya deal with people trafficking and the migration crisis. The UK already has a survey vessel, HMS Enterprise, operating in the area. Hmmmm. why do I feel like Admiral Akbar, wanting to yell, "it's a trap"? Hope they at least stand offshore far enough to not be targeted by enemy ATGMs, and other weaponry. I suspect they should be on the watch for suicide boats as well. |

The RN has had at least one ship on station for a number of years now. Occasionally there have been two, plus an RFA or two. This isn't News, this is Olds. |
