So finnaly watched it. I had managed to avoid all spoilers! So it was quite enjoyable! But one question I'm sure is explanded some place in the expanded universe. How come there is still a "rebelion" if the empire is dead. Why are the rebeles and senate seperate? |

It's not a Rebellion anymore. It is The Resistance. The Republic is officially IIRC in a Cold War situation wit the First Order, and the Resistance is a private group operating against the First order without official support. Damon. |

Because you can't do a scene-for-scene rerun of the first movie without a 'Not-Rebellion' and a 'Not-Empire'. |

How come even the janitor knows how to blow up the new super dooper Deathstar?? I was unimpressed by Force Awakens -- it was a total reboot of the original Star Wars movie. Check out this key scene by scene comparison: YouTube link But Rogue One, all new characters and story that backfills Star Wars New Hope looks like a lot more fun! Looking forward to that one.

I enjoyed for Force Awakenes, As I don't take my star wars that seriously(only propper good movie is Empire strikes back, all others have been ok to horrible) I do wish JJ had gone straight to Star Wars and not ruined Star Trek first(it's obvious he tried to make Star trek into star wars) |

I was happy with FA too. I went to see a Star Wars film and got one. |

> I do wish JJ had gone straight to Star Wars and not ruined Star Trek first(it's obvious he tried to make Star trek into star wars) Star Trek was too full of itself, it NEEEDED a good jolt of Star Wars in it. |

No it didn't thats why Star Wars exisit, to do the stupid silly "sci fi" And then we propper nerds can have our reverse the polarity in peace. |

Argument from popularity ain't a good one. Justin Beiber is popular. Jack ass is popular. Transformers movies are popular. |

Cannot watch the scene-by-scene in YouTube because a stupid ad takes up 75% of the bottom portion… |

Jar Jar Abrams, ruining your fandom one movie at a time. |

> Argument from popularity ain't a good one. It is when the argument about if a commercial property (that was flailing) needs it. They most certainly do or they do not get funding for another movie. |
Captain Gideon | 30 May 2016 7:29 a.m. PST |
Sargonarhes why did you say that? The JJ in JJ Abrams is NOT for Jar Jar and I've not clue as to why you said that to me that's an insult to Jar Jar Binks. |

It was LUCASFILM's STORY GROUP that made the EU "not canon" not Disney, not JJ. It NEVER WAS CANON. Really wish people would learn, but I suppose pointless hating is easier. Also, George Lucas himself said that only the movies (at that time) counted for canon. NONE of the books did. HOWEVER, if bits got used in movies or stuff, it could become CANON. Like Coruscant in ep1 – that was the imperial/new republic capital in heir to the empire. It wasn't HTTE that made it canon, it was ep1. Even if they did mispronounce the name (Tim Zahn preferred the "CoruSKant" pronunciation, as in coruscation/coruscating because it was so shiny.) Or Sienar Fleet Systems, Shantipole research outpost – all canon now, but based off old EU sources. |

JJ Abrams = Jar Jar. I hadn't thought of that before… |
Captain Gideon | 08 Jun 2016 8:23 a.m. PST |
Marc what makes you think there's a connection with the JJ in Abrams name and Jar Jar Binks? You're grasping for straws here so why don't you just drop this charade. |

Jar Jar Abrams. Lol! explains allot. No, Gideon, sadly, he has nailed it. Have to say I enjoyed the casting and seeing the excitement again. Even almost liked Force Awakened. Then, the nagging sensation of that was stupid hits you. It is like drinking a bad diet drink on a hot day. You enjoy the cool refreshment, then that nasty after taste hits you. Who builds a mega-super weapon the janitor can destroy? Who puts their entire military on a base/weapon that by definition of it's design kills all your soldiers by destroying the sun that supports life on the base? How do you suck a star into a planet to begin with? It reminds me of that town in North Carolina that banned solar panels. What idiot signs up to work there? Who builds a trench on a world to put the weapon in that is so deep and massive that it must suck in the entire atmosphere of the planet, therefore suffocating everyone on the surface and crushing everyone in the trench? How does a ray beam divide into multiple beams and change course mid-flight? It just goes on and on. One of the best parts of the movie is at the rebel command conference when Han solo seems for a minute to realize just how absurd the base idea and script really is. |

Also, I don't know if you heard. While the idea of Rouge one seems cool, they have stopped the project to rewrite the script. Apparently, it was so bad even Disney realized it was bad. Hopefully, something good comes out of this decision. |

EJNashIII I clearly don't see it but can we just agree to disagree? |
