Just wondered if anyone was marking the event… I've set reminders on my phone for significant moments during the day so I can follow the action in real time and I intend to raise a glass of navy rum to those on both sides who lost their lives.

I'm running Mini Jutland at the Sheffield Club on 1st June.

Our group will be using a modified version of the venerable Avalon Hill "Battle of Jutland" rules with 1:6000 scale ships glued to the AH counters. We'll have it on Monday, Memorial Day.

I will be working a late shift so will be otherwise engaged but plan to follow as best I can, a couple of people are using Twitter to follow the Battle in real time so will follow that.

I assume you are taking time zones and DST into account? :-)

Mark – nope: just want to give myself the feel of it. Not too worried about time differences as it's the broad narrative I wanted to capture

Hstoricon 2016 (14-17 July @ Fredericksburg MD USA) will include a number of Jutland and other WW1 naval related scenarios.

Licking chops. Cannot wait.

Planning to play it with counters (I only completed the battle cruiser fleets in 1/6000). Not exactly sure when I will start it, but I want it going on during the centenary.

If worst came to worst, and minis weren't all painted, one could play a game of Avalon Hill (Dunnigan) Jutland.

I will be attending the refight at HMS Flying Fox in Bristol in Sunday, then umpiring in the refight on the anniversary at the National Museum of the Royal Navy in Portsmouth

We are bracketing the actual date. Tomorrow we refight the BC phase and next Sunday we do a 1/2 scale refight of the BB phase.

This year we're doing a destroyer action during the battle cruiser phase, based on the scenario in Jack Greene's board game "Destroyer Captain", but using GQ2.

Over the years, with various groups, we seem to have moved from the whole battle with AH's game or variants, or Paul Hague's rules, to games just involving the Run to the South, or the Run to the North. But the presence of the BCs is going to be there in the destroyer action, indirectly off board, in the form of random event cards such as: "Big shell lands next to you -roll for potential damage"; 'Enemy BC presents itself as torpedo target -move into a firing position"; " Flagship hoists recall signal" ( only effects player who turned the card.
… You get the drift.

Billyfish – sounds like a sort of RPG crossover – like it!

My group has been running the battle for the last 4 weekends using Fleet Action Imminent. One of our guys has a huge metal backed whiteboard which we use with 1/6000 minis with magnetic bases. We wrapped the main action last night and now are doing the operational moves for a possible morning (or night!) action following the GFs pursuit of the HSF. Whole lot of fun!

Any recommended sources for refighting Jutland? I'm looking for things like order the ships were deployed in, distance between squadrons, direction they were heading in, time and distance of spotting the other fleet, weather and visibility.

Currently starting with the Battlecruisers but would also need this later on for the Battlefleets.
