The author, von Hase, was gunnery officer aboard Derfflinger at Jutland. His book ("Die Zwei Weissen Volk", English translation released as "Kiel and Jutland") is considered to be more or less a primary source in much the same way as "The Fighting at Jutland" is on the British side of the ledger.
