I am still learning about colour theory and how to select colours for a miniature I found these two links that show colours from individual movie stills The first is only twitter. You don't have to join twitter to see this stuff – a big relief for me. I would say I don't do any social media – but here I am. link This is the more useful one to me The second has more detail moviesincolor.com Thanks John |

Colour design into movies is a very interesting and a worthwhile study to inspire figure painting IMHO. My oldest collections a grew on an ad hoc basis and are a bit of a muddle but more recent units are painted with a definite eye on how the film makers use colour to convey a feeling. I try to paint with as few colours as I can whilst still rendering an approximation of the uniform. I often think as warmers we get too bothered about the little stuff, that is often conjectural anyway, but not about the larger picture and how the whole fits together. Some folks get it right and that's when you get a real special looking game. All just IMHO. |
