So generations is fine. Human looking bad guy and good old klingons. I'll give a pass to first contact as borgs where well established. Then in insurrection. You get the face lifts from hell. And in nemesis the regular romulans didn't look scary enough so they invented new type of romulans that looked like orc nosferatu mix. |

FYI the Remans are not Romulans and they were in an episode back in 2002-----but overall I get your point |

Agreed, they should have toned down the ugly aliens bit. |

It's an old theater trick: The ugly guy is the bad guy, much like old westerns in which the bad guys wore black hats. |

Cheap left over Babylon 5 masks? |

But TOS stayed away from that(and it's older so you should have thought if anybody did it, they would. TNG is supose to be a enlightend show. Yet they go low level sci fi/fantasy tropes. I thought the ENT remans was after Nemisis Remeans? |

Wasn't that the whole point of "Insurrection", though… that the 'coming apart at the seams' aliens wanted to get their hands on the 'preternaturally healthy' alien's world? |

> TNG is supose to be a enlightend show. Yet they go low level sci fi/fantasy tropes. The WORST of which was the Pakleds – it seems the fat aliens are also stupid… |

I always wanted to see a helmsman along the lines of the Xenomorph from Alien… someone so horrific even the 'enlightened' Enterprise crewmen can't help but get the willies. But the newly-reported Ensign is really a pretty nice guy… you just do not want to watch him eat. |

@GR A Predator as Security Chief. Better yet, Chief Medical Officer. |
Ghostrunner | 25 May 2016 3:56 p.m. PST |
That would be awesome: SCENE: SICKBAY, CAPTAIN IS RECOVERING FROM SURGERY ON THE TABLE FIRST OFFICER: Impressive. I've always wondered, where did you acquire such a vast knowledge of alien anatomy? MEDICAL OFFICER (via electronic translator): From my uncle's trophy room. |

Yeah, but you wouldn't want one as your chiropractor; Sure, they are good at ripping spines out, but putting them back in? Not so good… ;-) |

Cheap left over Babylon 5 masks? Say, aren't they basically using retouched Narn masks for the new bad guys in Star Trek Beyond?? Star Trek Beyond:
Babylon 5 Narn:

I guess there are only so many variations you can make to an actors face and still allow them to emote… unless they are willing to accept structural changes to their skull… |

My question would be – Why are aliens always humanoid with simply different heads? You rarely see an alien race of figures produced that aren't. |
