Not sure if its right section but does anyone have a link to 2nd MA regimental flag? Robert Gould Shaws second regiment before leading the 54th, did they simply use a variant of the state flag? |

So the movie "Glory" got it wrong? In that film they carry the white state flag, just like other MA regiments seem to have done. The letter says it was "never carried in action", so the lesson here is to never trust Hollywwod… |

ConfederateSwede, the film GLORY is one of my favorite historical dramas. But they got "dozens 'o things" wrong, from a historical perspective. |

perhaps the reinactors only had a white state flag version and know way to fix that problem the day of shooting? |

I love Glory, watch it every now and then, yes it got many things wrong, sad that the white flag wasn't carried, its beautiful and would have looked great in a diorama. Still who knows if that letter is 100% correct? |
