… 'In Under 8 Minutes' "If supreme leader gives order, Revolutionary Guards ‘will raze the Zionist regime' quickly, says senior adviser of elite al-Quds unit. A senior Iranian military commander boasted that the Islamic Republic could "raze the Zionist regime in less than eight minutes." Ahmad Karimpour, a senior adviser to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards' elite unit al-Quds Force, said if Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei gave the order to destroy Israel, the Iranian military had the capacity to do so quickly. "If the Supreme Leader's orders [are] to be executed, with the abilities and the equipment at our disposal, we will raze the Zionist regime in less than eight minutes," Karimpour said Thursday, according to the semi-official Fars News Agency…"

Yeah … these are the same guys that dance in the street and chant, "Death to Israel/America … The Iranians do not impress me based on all their past combat ops. But we can't underestimate some who believe if they kill the Infidels[us &Israelis], they go to paradise … |

First of all, Israel would retaliate. Second, radiation doesn't just stay were you put it. I don't think Egypt, Jordan, Syria or Lebanon would be too happy. Third, given the IRG's recent track record, I'd keep my big mouth shut! |

I'd call them a paper-tiger, but that is disrespectful to tigers. More like a paper-kitten. |

Iran fought Iraq for 10 years so they have the ability to sustain large numbers of causalities over a long period of time and still stay in the fight. People who want to destroy Israel don't care much about ancillary effects and damage. Retaliation does not matter to them either since they are a large country and have had years to prepare nuclear shelters for just such an attack. Red China used to brag they could suffer massive numbers of dead in a nuclear attack and still continue to function. Iran just came into an economic windfall and that buys a lot of rocket fuel and concrete bunkers. When determining the actions of the enemy or potential enemies, it is best to look at their abilities and desires. Consider also the price they are willing to pay for success. Stalin held the Soviet Union together in WWII despite casualties that might not have been sustainable in a democratic nation. Mike Bunkermeister Creek Bunker Talk blog |

Really, and just now many has Iran lost fighting ISIS? If they can't even defeat ISIS they are never going to defeat Israel. |

First they have to destroy the US Navy… oh wait, they're claiming to be able to do that in 50 seconds… |

It's possible that the Iranians have enough nukes on rockets with enough range to hit Israel. How many would make it past Iron Dome is an interesting argument. That some would is highly likely. And then we'd see just how many nuke launchers the Israelis actually have. Sadly, not enough to destroy Iran as comprehensively as a nuclear Iran could destroy Israel. However, I strongly suspect that the Indians, Chinese, Russians, and US would "express their displeasure" in quantities measured in megatons. |

Bluster and spleen-venting from an aging revolutionary who is more and more removed from the Iranian contemporary reality. He knows he's a dinosaur and is looking around for a meteor impact so that he can die in a blaze of glory rather then suffering old age. Don't give him his Ragnarok. Let him wither and decay like the fallout he craves. Don't let him commit 'suicide by world-cop'. Rod Robertson |

I'm surprised it would take the almighty nation of Iran such a long time to defeat Israel, given that they have access to time travel, unlimited energy, an economy that is immune to recession and depression, and have the most advanced stealth fighters, tanks and submarines in the world. |

Probably just 'bigging up' the Iranian military-industrial complex to see if it helps his investment portfolio…. Either that or he's trying to sound particularly loyal and zealous in the hope he dosen't have to take a trip to the Syrian front! Though can't help noticing that Saudi sits inside the range circle on the map – I wonder if the Iranians are neccesarily always talking about 'destroying Israel' when they talk about destroying Israel? Obviously bluster for internal consumption though. |

Obviously bluster for internal consumption Agreed … they have to still have a reason to dance in the streets, chanting "Death to Israel", "Death to America", etc., … |
