A post on my blog about jumping into the Anglo-Persian War. Really not even jumping in per se, more like my thoughts about jumping in: link |

Hi Darryl, I can certainly vouch that there is entertainment to be had from wargaming the Anglo-Persian War, at least from fighting Khoosh-Ab: TMP link But I'd stick to 6mm proxies myself. Creating entire dedicated armies for this little conflict even in 6mm, let alone any larger scale seems like a disproportionate amount of effort to me. But maybe I'm just lazy. If you do decide to go for it, best of luck, and please post photos! Chris |

Thank you for the link, Chris…and I AM just silly enough to be the one to create armies for this little war. There are a handful of battles, and depending on rules or how I scale the rules to fit the troop sizes, I think I can game them all. |

And where else can you use those Persians in the really cool tall hats? |

Afghanistan either as part of an Afghan army if we are talking irregulars or for the siege of Herat for a Persian army invading Afghanistan. |

The cool hats are sorta the mark of the Qajar dynasty, you can use them from 1779 through to the 1860s. I think after this date they use a smaller flatter hat and a uniform of a more European cut. David F Brown |
