Normans vs Normans

picture

Martin and I met up in San Antonio Texas for a SAGA matchup. We both brought our multiple armies, but had decided to use Normans that day. We decided to fight a 6 point contest.

Martin's force was composed of:
Warlord – William (1pt)
Mounted Warriors x 8 (1pt)
Foot Warrior Archers x 24 (3pt)
Foot Warrior Crossbow x 8 (1pt)

My force consisted of:
Warlord
Mounted Warriors x 16 (2pt)
Foot Yeomen Bow x 24 (2pt)
Foot Warrior Crossbow x 8 (1pt)
Foot Warriors x 8 (1pt)

The game started with Martin's bowmen unleashing a barrage on my advancing Normans, the first 2-3 turns were ugly for my forces as they got into position. Martin knew me well and he held his ground as I advanced.

I took a lot of casualties but my army was now in place, my Yeomen archers began to hit their targets as I moved my Norman cavalry around the flank. My Crossbow and foot warriors took the brunt of Martin's missile fire, and both 8 man units were destroyed.

The SAGA dice finally turned my way and I was able to launch a coordinated cavalry attack that isolated his Warlord, on the subsequent attack I killed William and won the day. Great game once again. The Texas SAGA group has chapters in Austin, San Antonio, Houston and now DFW!!!
