Winston Smith | 22 May 2016 3:25 p.m. PST |
First off, no open jackets or sweaters. No shirt cuffs partially rolled up. Why? Because I am tired of seeing guys sweeping figures off the table edge onto the floor. |

There used to be a guy who came to my games that would usually wear an open jacket made of sweat shirt material. Tom |

Let's see. It's warm here in South Carolina. So, when commanding my WW2 Soviets, I wear sandals, a pair of shorts, a t-shirt and my pilotka. |

I have to agree with Winston but it's chilly in my basement so even I forget and wear a cardigan and end up catching troops and trees with my sleeves! |
raylev3 | 22 May 2016 4:48 p.m. PST |
I avoid knocking figures off the table with my clothes by merely wearing a speedo….hey, it works. And it intimidates your opponent. Psychological warfare. |

OMG…we have to wear a dress when wargaming now?? Are we as a group so picked on that we are now called sissies who play with toys and wear dresses?? Should it be an evening dress, a short summer dress now that spring is half way through….formal, informal??? Where is Klinger when you need him. ;o) |
Oberlindes Sol LIC | 22 May 2016 5:09 p.m. PST |
Club or convention t-shirt definitely, preferably worn over a long-sleeved t-shirt for warmth and geek cred. Don't tuck the t-shirt in. It should fit well enough not to endanger any miniatures near the table edge -- and why are you playing that close to the table edge anyway? Shoes are important. You may be standing on concrete for hours, so vibram soles are indicated, make sure they're well broken in and comfortable. |

The full dress uniform of the army you are commanding during the game. |

Grelber | 22 May 2016 6:45 p.m. PST |
I don't know, Pictors. I think my Bayeux tapestry would go nicely when commanding Saga Normans, so long as I remembered to secure it with my sword tie tack. Grelber |

Club shirts are fine, but at least buy a new one every year or so. I have seen too many shapeless, faded, so-called club shirts over the years. |

One of the guys who games with us wears a kilt to the games. Of course he is Scottish and wears a kilt everyday instead of pants so it isn't so strange, just not seen all the time over here. |
epturner | 23 May 2016 6:40 a.m. PST |
I have threatened Winston that I shall wear my kilt when we play The Sword and The Haggis… probably one reason we have not done so. I tend to go for the "jeans and sweatshirt" look, so common amongst the middle-upper 40's crowd to which I belong. Eric |
Old Wolfman | 23 May 2016 7:12 a.m. PST |
Usually something casual, clean, comfortable, but becoming. Usually top it off with a bandana and/or hat. |
Martin Rapier | 23 May 2016 7:24 a.m. PST |
"Another meaningless question… Bit of fun but just why Winston?" He said why in the OP. I had to tell a player off recently for wearing a huge draped jumper which was literally dragging my toys off the edge of the table. I've also lost plenty of things (mainly trees) to the edges of loose cuffs. Otherwise, ridiculous hats are a must. Which is why I have two different styles of Fez. |

wrgmr1 | 23 May 2016 12:38 p.m. PST |
Phil Dutre, we get new shirts every 3 years or so. The Maroon ones are the most recent ones. |
Shagnasty | 23 May 2016 12:55 p.m. PST |
Preferably button-down shirts with chino slacks or jeans. Ideally with cardigans and pipes. The ultra casual could substitute a polo shirt in an inoffensive pattern and colour. No Ts and shorts. But enough fantasy. |
etotheipi | 24 May 2016 4:54 a.m. PST |
Occasionally, we don force-appropriate attire, but not to excess. Some scenarios just seem to ask for it. I have an itch to, at some time in the indeterminate future, get green polos with a "Zelenaya Soylent" logo on them to host a game of Soylent Green – We're A People Company at a con. Maybe have "3C" logo ballcap as a trophy… |
