Looks like the battle to recapture Falluja from ISIS is beginning. It fell to ISIS in 2014 during their initial expansion and is one of two key cities they possess in Iraq along with Mosul. We'll see how the Iraqi army does this time around with militia and Kurdish allies helping the operation. -Although I sincerely doubt it will only take 2-3 weeks as claimed. How they do will be an indication of how future operations to retake Mosul will fare. link |

Iraq Begins Assault on Islamic State in Fallujah "Iraqi forces have begun their assault on Islamic State in Fallujah, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said late Sunday, an operation that aims to evict the extremists from one of their last major territorial holdings in Iraq.
