Just ran two big games and now I'm feeling bored with everything. Or let's just say not inspired. So here I am looking through the forums and sale ads, for something 'newish' |

You could put on a Mexican uniform to run your next game. :) |

I never have needed to go looking for a new period. They always seem to find me; usually on a dark corner somewhere where they club me over the head and steal my wallet. :) |

Don't need to get bored, to start looking for anew period. |

Nah. Plenty to do with what I have. New projects just seem to fall in my lap, I don't need to search for more. |

Naah…. disgusted with gamers but bored with the hobby-- never. |

Yes it is not boredom so much as ADD. Oh Shiny! Squirrel! Where did all the money go???? Anyway I struggle more to keep myself reined in and stay the course with what I do have which is still considerable despite having culled large parts of my collection. |

D6, since when have you needed an excuse for a new period? |
Rich Bliss | 19 May 2016 1:40 p.m. PST |
Sure. Every ten years or so, I get in the mood to,start a brand new period. |

Mope. I've tried any that I had the vaguest on. If o haven't started a new one by now I never will. |
Fat Wally | 19 May 2016 2:15 p.m. PST |

I wouldn't say bored but sometimes I like the idea of starting something completely new. However, it never really works out well for me if I buy some figures or a book to purposefully try to stimulate an interest in a period. Recently I've begun to wish, for the millionth time, that I had strictly stuck to three projects and covered them in greater depth. A key thing is that old chestnut – 'it ain't a job but a hobby.' Take some time away and come back to it – works for me. |

Yes, I have done that. Often. |

I am always on the lookout for something new… not because am bored by my current projects, but because I like new things. I frequently become interested in a project, research figures and rules, ask a lot of annoying questions here on TMP, and then get distracted by something else. Lather, rinse, repeat. Right now, I am trying to really limit my focus and expenditures to FrostGrave, FiveCore, DBA 3.0, and VSF Colonials. |

Dig deep in the back of your closet Mike. I'm sure there is something there you have forgotten about that you could get back on the table! Of course I have the same issue weekly… |

Never bored but the ooh! shiny syndrome bites avery couple months. Usually control it so that only one new period starts every year. |

Boredom is not a catalyst. Oh shiny is. Many a time I have planned a new period and after figuring the economic cost, I grab the wallet, back away from the internet and phone, place my thumb in my mouth and tuck my body in a fetal position and whimper until the urge is gone. |

Bored means it is time to take a break. Play some video games, watch some films, read some books. Ooh shiny is what starts New periods, and you get ooh shiny from reading books etc. |
