After bouncing around different games, myself and a few old friends have decided that we should never have dropped WAB 1.5 in order to wait for the new shiny WAB2 (What a let down that was!) – 1.5 always gave us great, fun games with plenty of toys on the table and a good reason to buy lots more new toys – Perfect!

So the first couple of Batreps are up on the blog, which will record the full journey back to a better times for Historical gaming (for some of us at least!!).

Concur, Dave. 1.5 provided some very fun and memorable games. Good on you.

Great AAR – enjoyed your musings as well. Still looking for the 'perfect' set of Rules!

It's been a lot of fun so far and I'm looking forward to more games in the near future and even organising a couple of events in the new year here in the UK.

I wonder if the perfect set of rules could ever exist! :-D

WAB gives me a laugh, lots of anticipation at the height of the battle and just enough frustration to keep me building new armies for the next battle – it's almost real life!!! :-)

Totally agree. Been playing WAB 1.5 again recently and really enjoying it.

Those are great looking Indians; very nicely painted.

Good to hear of more players out there elcid1099 – It's strange to think back on how popular the rules were, but now there's very few threads anywhere regarding recent battles etc.

Cheers Codsticker – The figures are my own and the painting looks a lot better from a distance I can assure you of that! :-)

Fought another great game this weekend. Against an Achaemenid Persian army this time.
