Howdy Folks,

I have posted some new photos of 1/600 American Civil War ship models on my blog. Featured this time around are the CSS Arkansas, the USS Tyler and the Queen of the West.

Nice work. The awnings on the Queen of the West are a brilliant touch. The scale photo with the lighter is very effective.

Thanks OBW, love the film you used for the muddy Yazoo. All the boats are extremely nice. The boat davits are excellent. The canvas tent flys on Tyler are an excellent touch.

Well done.

Lovely models, and nice photography as well!

I'm not totally satisfied with it but the water is created by a piece of clear vinyl from my local Ace Hardware store and a piece of brown felt from Joannes Fabric. I got the idea from TMP, an old post from Scott Mingus perhaps. What I don't like is the contours in the plastic (from being rolled up) sometimes won't allow the models or shoreline to sit completely flat, leaving unsightly gaps which just don't look good. I'm still searching for the ideal tabletop water surface.

Here's another picture of the CSS Arkansas
