I have never played, but hope to this week, maybe a couple times, in prep for running a game at a small local con in a couple weeks. Got my pods ready, tokens, cards, qrs and rules, some terrain (need more). The problem, I have very limited time to send in a description for the event, and I don't know the play time I can expect for the game, again, having never played.

If this all seems rather slap-dash, well, in my defense, the whole convention appears rather slap-dash, having only been announced as being on the calendar about a month back. So, Though I have read a few game reports on blogs, I have no clue as to play time. I am guessing 2 hours, maybe 3, since we will all be noobish.

Any info is appreciated, even uninformed but well intention-ed opinions.(please note them as such, however.. for clarity..)

I haven't played this ruleset and I am sure it works perfectly fine. I have also designed a pod racing game based loosely on "X-Wing" by Fantasy Flight Games. You may be interested in looking at this as a back up system:

I have read a blog post on this. I have never played xwing, or maybe once.. a while back. At this point, I have too little time to fret on it. Deadline for the event sub was midnight so I put in at 3 hours. I have some prep left to do. I may look into your rule set after the con. it is only a week out.

slap and dash..

Spin Out is easy to play. A game, depending on the number of players, takes from 30 minutes to about an hour and a half. And as noted, the rules are available for free at runtus.org

Thanks for piping up. I will be plugging the rules in my how to play segment. I created a set of cards to be used with sleeves and a regular deck to make card function simpler. I also created a refs Quick Ref Sheet, that outlines the turn sequence and puts the table in what I think is a more accessible order. Mind if I toss them up on the files section of the BGG entry for Spin out?

Glad you enjoy them – as you probably found, you soon find out who your friends are… Put them up if you wish, and thanks.
