A question on Group/Formation activation's. Do you have to declare first what your 2 Actions are then do them (i.e. move D6 & Fire) or can you use one Action to move and if it's not enough then use the second to try to mover further instead of,say, firing? (I hope I said this right…)

I would have no problem with the second option.
You aren't going to fire until you're in position.

The only "restriction" I could find is that a player must announce what he plans on doing with the unit being activated.

The purpose of this is so his opponent has the opportunity to "interrupt" that unit. (The special note "The Most Important Rule of All" on page 19.)

I've always played declare both first, but so long as you agree with your opponent then your option is fine.

I was involved in a long thread on the Lardies forum about interrupting – and as teberry stated you are supposed to declare what you are going to do in advance so that your opponent may interrupt if he has the Command Cards to do it.

Thanks, I had forgotten about "interrupting"! Have to play more!

one more note on interrupting – you cannot interrupt an Ambuscade (3 Command Card ambush), confirmed by Richard himself
