Some of these look suspiciously like our figures (Perry Miniatures) which have been tampered with. The gun is from our plastic ACW set with a new barrel. If the plan is to sell these commercially it'll have to stop now. |

Is it just the gun or are the figures questionable as well? |
Perry Miniatures | 18 May 2016 2:53 a.m. PST |
Hello Artilleryman, after looking at them this morning unfortunately it's all the figures as well. The top two figures are a French voltigeur and the one on the left is a Confederate. The three gunners to the right of the gun are from the artillery set and the one on the left I recognise but can't place yet. All the figures are based on our plastic figures you can tell from the leg poses, folds in the cloth on the trousers, bases, faces and the tool lines on the plastic. We have written to them and hope to get a quick relpy…. |

That is a great shame as I have always looked forward to a good 28mm range for 1848. However, your stance is absolutely correct. I would rather wait longer. |

Perhaps the Perry's will step up and give us some nice 28mm for 1848, 1849,1859,1864,1866,1871:p |

I think the Perries are right, although it is clear that the infantry and artillery are the result of a radical transformation that good taste should be able to appreciate. |

1848 is neglected period….however that being said, Artistic/intellectual copyright is being tested here. If as the Perry's state it is a conversion from an assemblege of their parts will additional conversion work, then the sculptor responsible should be held to account. I feel concerned for both the manufacturer and the person who comissioned these figures for they may well have both thought they were funding unique sculpts. Like many others I will be watching this stream with interest, for all the problems, these are lovely figures. |

As Shipka says, a real shame all round. |

Too good to be true. Love to see this period done the right way. |

it is a copyright violation of the first order if placed for commercial sale. |

We have an update on the situation. We have spoken to the sculptor and he has assured us that they were just as one-off conversions and will not enter production for sale at Hagen Miniatures. We have emailed Hagen to confirm the matter but the owner is away until next week, but it all looks ok. This is a big relief for us. Alan and Michael |

Hi guys, in the meantime I learned about the problem. We can assure you that the figures won't go into production at Hagen. Sometimes people simply ask Massimo to sculpt or convert some figures for their collection or make little gems of vignettes. This is one such set. When you check our homepage you see that we are a producer of 1/72 figures, the 28mm we have to offer you can count on two fingers. @ Alan and Michael – it seems the subject is popular. So suggest you go for it and we will make it in "our" scale:-) All the best to you all! Uwe |
