Uncontrolled volley. If your target goes away, you keep shooting unless the office sucessfully rolls to stop you? That was what we decided. We played our first game today. It seems logical that with all the smoke and noise they would just keep shooting. Also, if a unit has to move backwards because of excess shock, and it moves off the board, is it gone for good? Does it count against force morale? Really liked the game. We are planning on painting for figures for it. |

We had that problem in our play-test. As we were learning the rules, we just let the formation stop firing, but that is a good question. *Just found something reading "Let's play Sharp Practice" at: toofatlardies.co.uk/blog/?p=5479 "Turn Six. The next turn sees the rebel militia under more fire from the Light Infantry. It's my job to slow down the British and inflict what casualties I can before falling back with what I can salvage to form a second line. When Blue 3 comes up he uses a flag to activate three Groups, attempting to break them from the formation to run back to the next fence line. However, his troops have been firing uncontrolled volleys and, in the smoke and noise, only two Groups actually turn and run. The rest keep firing even though they have no target immediately before them." Looks like they keep firing until you do a "Uncontrolled Troop Check" Table 14 – Page 49 I believe if a unit goes off the board moving backward due to excessive shock, it has routed off and should count against force morale. If you have suffered that much Shock, it's time to head for home, dinner's ready!

Yes to all three, I think. You certainly keep firing; and if you've been driven off the table, that's a Bad Thing. I would recommend the Lardy Forum – there is a lot of discussion of SP2 at the moment (naturally enough) – link |

Yup, your nervous boys keep firing until your Leader can get them under control and issue different orders. |
