Hi all, It has been a while since my last posting but due to the unusual dry and sunny weather here in Wales, my wife and I were able take advantage of the great weather and decided to tidy our garden a bit after the unforgiven weather conditions we had during the last few Winter Months and prepare it a bit for a hopefully nice summer. Nevertheless, I was able to finish a Command Base with some French Figures from Calpe Miniatures. These figures are becoming slowly some of my favourites. The sculpts are very crisp and the casting is just brilliant which only needs very minimal cleaning. The figures represent 3 Officers of a French Regimental Command (a Colonel, a Major and an Adjutant NCO) and a Fusilier on guard. Please follow the links for more pictures ;) French Colonel: http://www.sascha-herm.com/Calpe-French01.htm
French Major: http://www.sascha-herm.com/Calpe-French02.htm
Adjutant NCO: http://www.sascha-herm.com/Calpe-French03.htm
Fusilier on Guard Duty: http://www.sascha-herm.com/Calpe-French04.htm
I decided to base the figures individually but still wanted them to be grouped together to create a little Vignette which still can be used as a Command Base. Warbases helped to create a lovely unique Movement tray for me according to my design. The Base is 100mm in Diameter with two rectangular slots measuring 50x25mm and two circular Penny size slots. I hope you like them. Please let me know what you think. All comments are welcome Kind regards Sascha |

Amazing as usual. I really like how the figures can be individual from the main base. |

Simply beautiful. I like the stance the Adjutant NCO figure and the overall layout of the Command base. Inspiring work as always. |

As above beautiful paint application but, it's the eyes making the faces look weird. |

Thank you all for your kind comments :-) They took me a while to paint, I thoroughly enjoyed painting them and for 28mm, I'm really pleased with the results ;-) I never expect 100% good comments but I'm very grateful for your honesty. I hope the rest (base uniform and horse) are finding your approval :-) Kind regards Sascha |

Command stances from Calpe are great. They have a series of Prussian commands wich is really incredible. Sacha, why don't you give a "crack" at them ? I believe they have been made for you to get going. |

Sasha, here's a group I put together with Calpe command figures. I'm sure you could do a much better paint job than I did! [URL=http://s219.photobucket.com/user/tjm3/media/Calpe%20Prussians/IMG_8037.jpg.html]

Thank you BelgianRay & wrgmr1. You are right the figures are looking brilliant and your paintjob is not too shabby too ;- I have painted and finished some Calpe Prussian Artillery and Officers last month. That was the first time I painted any figures of the Calpe range. (No eyes though…lol) Here are some pictures:
I can not aggree with you both more, Calpe Miniatures are quite incredible :-) Kind regards Sascha |

"I never expect 100% good comments but I'm very grateful for your honesty. I hope the rest (base uniform and horse) are finding your approval :-)" Of course it does, I admire yur shading – giving very good depth in the figures and being incredibly well controlled. |
