Pick your favorite, most frequently gamed, whatever. For some TMP'ers, I believe the answer is pretty obvious! I'd go 16th century: Great Italian Wars. Cortez, Drake, and Hawkins. Armadas of carracks, galleons, and galleasses. |

17th. It begins with pikes and matchlock muskets and ends with volley-fired flintlocks with bayonets. Not to mention that during the reign of Louis XIV there were some very snappy dressers on the battlefield. LT |

Will no one else stand up for the 15th Century! The 16th does have cool looking fortifications and beautiful ships though. The 15th has almost all the stuff the 16th has plus old stuff from as far back as the dark ages can be used on the frontiers. There's a lot of weapon diversity and armor use is at its high point. |
