I see all of the company's advertisements, but I never see anyone posting about games using the rules and/or figures. Anyone play the rules, or are you just co-opting the figures into other rule sets? |

Just getting into it. Go to their website and download the rules for free. Here is their "forum" on the Dakka-dakka: link |

Not I, I had trouble even watching the movie Wild Wild West. I prefer westerns with Clint Eastwood and Tuco tpyes, hence DDead Man's Hand. But to each their own… |

The "Weird West" elements are a recent addition to the game. It can be played quite easily without them. That being said Dead Man's Hand is a much more finished product. |

About to. Played it at ORIGINS a couple of times, liked it a lot. Pictors Studio has painted a bunch of the minis for me, he will deliver them next week at Drums, but here is the link to my blog. I painted a female gang for my wife…. link When I get me minis from Scott, we'll start to play….. Dave |

Dave that is very cool, I like how you git the spouse involved. I might have to try that approach. |

Hi folks yes like tberry says, if you're interested in more of a historical style game you can just omit the "weird west" factions. The rules are kind of inbetween versions at the moment. The current rules are free on our site at blackwatergulch.com, but the new version will be the first "gameworld rulebook" for our new open ended skirmish ruleset that we are building, you can get them on our new site at skirmishgames.com. However, the rules are pretty similar and it's mostly just a few tweaks to fix a few wonky things or min-max issues. We're going to be updating the current fantasy rules there shortly, and then adding a Western supplement after that, and that is what the new BWG rules will be based on. Eventually we hope to have all sorts of different settings featured… modern day, world wars, sci fi, etc. The core rules will always be the same, it's really just equipment and skills that will change in different genres, the idea is you'll be able to use any minis you want for any genre you want (but of course we hope you'll buy ours :) ). If you're planning to be at Origins this year, there will be lots of demos going on again :) They will be based on the current rules that are available now though, we'll be focusing on the newer rules probably next year since it will take a while to really put it all together, so I'm hoping to do a big re-release of the game either late this year or early next year when that's all done. |
