Mudki is an interesting battle fought mostly in the dark and it was the first clash between the British and the Khalsa. When I first decided to refight it I did not realise that I would have to make new terrain and buy some additional toys. Of course new toys are always good.

Cheers Hal,those ones are Black Hat I may get a few more.

I'm with Hal. The figures, and your painting of, are great. I especially like the British lancers (from an earlier post to your blog). Your blog is really coming along nicely.

Thanks very much Ragbones. Those lancers are from Minifigs Crimean range. Part 2 of Mudki should be up on Monday. Its written I just need to take more photos. I need to make some sandy hillocks too.

Oh B#gger,

Great to see your project proceeding!

Currently on my phone, so not sure if my attempt to cut-&-paste a link will succeed, but here's a link (hopefully!) to a post I did a couple years back on building some simple "Low Sandy Hills", from single pieces of styrofoam based on inexpensive self-adhesive vinyl tile. It might possibly work for your "sandy hillock" needs…

Thanks MG that's a very helpful post. That's just the sort of thing I need to do but being hillocks they will be smaller. I'm using off cuts of foam board left over from my Indian city. Outlines have been drawn and sides bevelled.

Sounds great, Oh B#gger! Look forward to seeing the finished products!

I have made the first 4 MG and some look better than others. I'll have another go today and then post a pic. It is a good method and very cost effective too.

The sandy hillocks just need a heavy coat of varnish now.
