I know there was a kerfluffle when Finecast came out, but in what shape are the troop type figures described as being resin, these days (specifically I was looking at Eldar Striking Scorpions).

Are they OK? Or are we still in the "you can just fill those holes with liquid greenstuff" stage?

Last finecast model I got was a few weeks ago, Allarielle from the High Elf Range, picked up when it was on the Last Chance to Buy list. It was flawless, not a single bubble whatsoever. I also picked up a pack of Treekin several weeks before, also in finecast, also pretty much perfect. I think a lot of the issues with finecast were both early on, and pretty extensive. Also it seemed to be worse with certain models as compared to others. Most of my finecast experiences have been fairly postivie, though I did find the Dark Reaper Eldar aspect warriors pretty bubbly and flawed, the first set far moreso than the 2nd (the first set had huge air bubbles at the end of the sensor vanes, with just a thin film of resin defining it; it worked because I filled it with superglue and it looked alright in the end. 2nd set was better cast but not without bubbles…)

Damon.

OK. Good to hear.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I bought some Dark Eldar Wracks when they were first released, which was when Finecast was brand new and they were terrible.

I swore not to buy finecast again. However, since then I had to paint some Finecast for customers and it was all great. I've since bought some myself and had no problems at all. As Garand says, they have been flawless.

As no GW thread is complete without a complaint, I'd much rather deal with inconsistent early era Finecast at a $20 USD price point than ridiculously overpriced and boring plastic characters with inferior detail costing $30. USD People called for GW to phase out finecast and now we're paying more for less.

That is GW for you.

Is there a link to theorist ta finecast sells? I've searched just finecast and get hits describing the problems they had two years ago.
