We have set table for our annual Big Battalion SYW game this Saturday May 14th, 2016.

Rules used are Bill Protz's Batailles dans l'Ancien Regime ("BAR") and feature 60-figure infantry battalions and 12-figure cavalry squadrons (with 3 to 5 squadrons per regiment). Over 3,000 28/30mm figures will grace the tables, of which there are three 6ft x 28ft tables.

The scenario involves the Prussian army of Frederick the Great attempting a dangerous river crossing and the establishment of a strong bridge head on the other side of the Saale River at Weissenfels circa 1758. The Franco-Austrian army commanded by Soubise and Loudon will attempt to crush the bridge head with their attack.

I will post an updated game report over the weekend.

At first I thought the figures in the bottom photo where facing the wrong way. Then I noticed that there are 2 tables

That is very cool. I hope you all have a great game.

DAF, so, this place the game was in, you said Woodstock? Who's library is that?

The game table is in the basement of Keith L.'s house. The tables are surrounded by book shelves, which look nicer than the formerly bare concrete walls.

Three 6 x 28 tables! Is that wargames room a converted hanger?

NOW! "THAT" is a great game!

FYI, we are using a figure to man ratio of 1:10 for our units. So for example, a battalion of 60 figures represents 600 men.
