Back in February I posted about some Frost Giant Figures I bought off ebay. 54mm Vikings from Russia.

Post here:

I finally finished them after many delays. I have this thing I do, when I'm not sure how to paint a figure It slowly fades to the back of the painting queue. You know, the detail on figure is vague, or your not sure of color choices or painting effect you want to achieve.

So my Giants sat half painted for 3 months. This week I forced myself to just keep putting paint on them till I was satisfied.

They came out way better than I thought and glad I pushed thru my painting block. Anyway, here's the pics.

You did a wonderful job on them. They should scare the crap out of any adventuring crew!

Thanks. Hmmm I just noticed how washed out the colors are. It doesn't look like it but I went with blue skin with highlights and shading. The camera washed it out to grey. Grrrrrr….

It's possible to go from purchase to finished project in 3 months. Unburleafable…

Lovely, unified colour scheme.

Here is a color corrected photo that better resembles the actual paint job. I 'll have to play with my camera settings.

They look great! I may have to borrow the idea. :)

That green background may be confusing your camera's color sensor. Try photographing them with a neutral grey background.

Those look great, are they plastic or metal figures?

Great job! Love the skin tone, looks very chilly.

Xin, truly excellent execution.
I couldn't see it before but I can truly see them as giants 8n the scale.
Could be used for more than frost giants as well.
And the skin tone looks good as well.

Xin,

I saw your previous update on this and thought I'd give it a go too. Not as well executed as yours but at least I chose similar constrasting colours. Mine are not yet complete but they will be going onto the table for Kings of War when they are.

Before paint:

Half way through painting:

I guess I'll finish them some time :-)

Thanks for comments gentlemen.

@djbthesecond, I love the modifications you did. Now I wish I spent more time on mine.

Xin
