Heroscape: Road to the Forgotten Forest

It's a terrain expansion for Heroscape, but will non-Heroscape gamers be attracted by the trees?

I have given my first, and very preliminary, impressions of these rules on my blog:

Generally I feel very happy with the changes and developments. I look forward to reading other reviews in the near future.

Thanks, what would be a typical table size and roughly how many formations per side would be typical in a small game?

I just got my copy in the mail yesterday. Looking forward to playing.

Norm, the rules suggest that figures should be 15mm or 28mm and 12" on the tabletop represents 50 yards.

A 6 x 4 table is ideal but you could get away with 28" by 20" if using 10mm or smaller.

A core force should be around 40 to 50 figures plus some additional support which could be something like a holy man, a physic or a musician, a water cart or an ammunition wagon.

I am looking at a French force for the French and Indian War.

If 12" represents 50 yards, wouldn't the best size of miniature be 10mm? Or roughly N-scale (1:160).

The best size of miniature is whatever you already have. The rules work fine with any scale.

I'm using 60mm figures for FIW and I may have to double the ranges.
