I use Vallejo. Three paint colours mixed to get three tones: • Mix Burnt Umber with a little Flat Earth. • Add more Flat earth to the above mix. • Then add Dark Sand to Flat Earth. There are your three basic skin tones. This mixing method will give you the ability to control the tonal stages and you can paint closer tones to avoid the 'stepping effect' that sometimes results using neat paint. It also keeps the tones the same warmth. Using paint straight out of the bottle often means the colour bias between warm and cool changes between the different tones you use and that can give a 'jumpy' sort of effect. |

i use a pair of very lazy methods..that seem to work for me….brown primer spray from a cheapest car paint..then dry brush in orange….or…orange primer…then wash it burnt humber oil… |

OK, someone's already linked to the CMON "Painting Ethnic Skintones" article. That one is my go-to for ideas. I haven't used the WGF triads, but I usually use the Reaper Master Series triads for my fleshtones. Great olive-skin and darkest Africa purplish-black skintones. |
