What Vallejo colors would work well for Winter War Finns? Is there an online painting guide? |

White. ;) Seriously, though, for actual uniforms, they were pretty close to the Germans, and I've used just basic feldgrau. Some pics here: link |

"White" would be my first guess too. |

Warlord Games has a Vallejo paint set for Finish infantry. The original announcement (March 21, 2014) included a brief reference as follows: Summer jacket-Medium Sea Green 870; Winter Jacket and trousers-Grey Green 866; Helmet-Brown Violet 887; Leather-Chocolate Brown 872; Winter gear-London Grey 836 w/ white highlight; Officer's jacket-Cork Brown 843 I tried to track down the notice on Warlord's web site and got nowhere. Maybe you will have better luck. Dennis |

No summer jacket outside summer months (and Winter War definitely was outside summer months!). Mid-gray was the uniform color. White should only be used in camo smocks. Please note that these became very dirty after a short while. Google some pics… |

I did a little searching. I found the paint set and descriptions in the Warlord store so I can get the couple colors I need. I also found a tutorial for painting the white smocks where they don't look like a white blob. It is for 15s but the concept should work for 28s. I plan to do a sepia wash on them anyway to dirty them up a bit. Thanks all for the help. |
