Here are some minis painted by Redzed and by Partick Connor that I've just based up – part of a small Wars of the Roses army I'm raising for To the Strongest! There's a basing tutorial here: link

Very nice. I really like the irregular edge look to your bases. |

Excellent Simon, I'm sure they will sell well. Dave. |

This is very timely, since I just re-based some 250 Wars of the Roses infantry yesterday :^( |

Thanks chaps! I like to think that the bases are a little different (you can't see on the pic above, but they have magnets built into them, too). Here is the same base at an earlier stage of construction:-

Very nice work! It's also nice to see that there are alternative rulesets to those where 1mm can make a difference… |

Is it wrong I clicked on this thread expecting to see hobbits.. Still very nice looking minis good stuff |

Nicely done Simon – good to see you are keeping tuft manufacturers in business! I like the notion of the larger, irregular edged bases for skirmishers. Garry |

Well put together, they look great. (Prince Rupert, I was expecting the same, glad I looked in though). Cheers, RC. |

Is it wrong I clicked on this thread expecting to see hobbits.. Yes. You will be punished. Listen in the night for the snuffling of Nazgűl… - Ix |

Those are some very nice looking miniatures, and the bases really make them into gorgeous little dioramas. Nicely done. The irregular shapes of the bases is also a really interesting idea, and an advantage of grid-based gaming I hadn't thought of before. If you do any more, consider beveling the edge of the base to remove the vertical surface – i.e., so the thickness of the base ramps gently down to nothing at the edge. That would take advantage of the irregular shape and nice vegetation to maximize blending with the table surface. Or, alternatively, just glue vegetation along that vertical edge all the way around to hide it. - Ix |

Thanks all! Yellow Admiral- yes some people bevel the edge and then sand it down so that it curves gently into the table. Looks very effective. Garry, I do get through a few tufts…. ;-) |
