SPOILER ALERT!!!!! Someone please point out to the Smalljohn that it was the Freys and Bolton who killed his father. Weren't there supposed to be 3 Kingsguard at the Tower? HBO couldn't afford three??? Minor nit picking aside, I like the progress of the show. I think Yara will take the part of Victarion and bring her fleet to Meereen where Dany's fleet was conveniently burned. We had Sam seasick for one episode. PLEASE do not drag it out over three more. |

Someone should also point out to the small Council that they serve at the pleasure of the King. |
Doctor X | 08 May 2016 8:28 p.m. PST |
Still comparing the books and the series? While the main storyline might still follow to some degree the details can get very fuzzy. Agree on the Sam sailing. Unnecessary scene. |

Jon Snow left the Black Castle walking… alone? The capture of the Little Stark and the wild woman… was in the books?… Poor couple… I cannot imagin what is going on with them!… (smile). Who rules Dorn? Amicalement Armand |
Winston Smith | 08 May 2016 9:20 p.m. PST |
Nothing tonight was in the books. Well, Sam getting seasick was. Oh yes. The Tower of Joy was, but in a cryptic fever dream while Ned was in the dungeon. |

The Dorne mess was certainly NOT in the books. I imagine Dorne has descended into anarchy. Assassins always think the people are behind them. Very rarely they are. |
darthfozzywig | 08 May 2016 10:13 p.m. PST |
Normally the assassins are behind the people…close behind. Loved the fight at the Tower. I guess the real Jon Snow reveal will be the episode 9 blockbuster? I like how they're building up to it. |

After last night, I am over GoT. It has turned into a soap opera that will take too many years for my liking to resolve. I'm letting the rest of the seasons episodes record and i'll binge watch them later. |
Winston Smith | 09 May 2016 7:50 a.m. PST |
Well, of course it's a soap opera! So was Dallas, the Sopranos, etc. |

Someone please point out to the Smalljohn that it was the Freys and Bolton who killed his father. I'm also thinking that Karstark just missed a giant opportunity last episode; Ramsey kills Roose, Karstark could say 'hey, you just killed the Warden of the North', put a sword through Ramsey's guts, tell the Maester to shut his useless yap because Ramsey was a menace to humanity to begin with, and then go 'hey everyone, the Boltons mysteriously just all died but guess who's alive AND is distantly related to the Starks? This guy!' Weren't there supposed to be 3 Kingsguard at the Tower? HBO couldn't afford three??? Yes, and I noted that the Sword of Morning did not in fact have his eponymous blade. I think Yara will take the part of Victarion and bring her fleet to Meereen where Dany's fleet was conveniently burned. Yep, I can see how they are moving the chess pieces around to account for the changed plot. Interesting stuff. -Will |

Karstarks were never considered the sharpest cousins. |

Just as Ned besting Arthur Dayne was misremembered, the number of kingsguard was as well. |
Winston Smith | 09 May 2016 1:00 p.m. PST |
I had always suspected that "But for Howland Reed, Ned would have been slain" was something along those lines. |
jowady | 09 May 2016 4:25 p.m. PST |
After Episode 2 Episode 3 was, for me at least, an absolute let down. Everybody knows that "Ser Robert Strong" is a re-animated Gregor Clegane? The Small Council meeting was a big nothing. The fight between the Sword of the Morning and Ned was pretty good but it wasn't long enough. And now Ramsey will get to torture Rykon, oh boy I can't wait for that, yawn. |

Tyrion's arc has been achingly boring this season. Let me rephrase that. When he us not bonding with dragons, his arc is achingly boring. I guess the dragon thing excuses a lot. |
jowady | 09 May 2016 8:56 p.m. PST |
Tyrion boring? The line "I drink and I know things" alone makes it all worthwhile as well his interaction with the Dragons. I did like the whole "my watch is ended" but the big question is what he will do. Will he gather Melisandre Davos, and the Wildings and move on Winterfell? Will he meet up with Sansa? But after Episode 2 which seemed to answer questions this episode seemed to be all about asking more, I just feel like it lost all the forward momentum from the previous episode. |
PrivateSnafu | 10 May 2016 7:15 a.m. PST |
It should not be a soap opera because a book series has an ending, whereas a soap opera does not. In high probably the series will end with authors death from being a slob. This SNL skit reflects my sentiment. link |
doug redshirt | 10 May 2016 10:49 a.m. PST |
There was a preview showing Davos at one of the Northern lords home trying to persuade them to join up. Think the heraldry was the one with the bear, Marmont or something like that. |

Olly sure had a look of hate in his eyes. Though he got what was coming to him. |
Doctor X | 10 May 2016 2:18 p.m. PST |
There are some obvious loose ends that will be tied up this season but unless the writers got real lazy this year there will still be enough surprises to keep it very interesting. |
jowady | 10 May 2016 3:10 p.m. PST |
What bugs me is that in the books and the first few seasons all we've heard is about how "The North takes care of its own", and "The North is united", and all that garbage. Now suddenly the Karstarks (who may have a legit beef against the Starks) and the Umbers (who don't) are more than willing to ally themselves with someone who they know is a thoroughgoing psychopath. Ate they really going to support Ramsay as "King in the North"? The Umbers had Rickon, they knew who he is and yet they turn him over? Because Jon Snow let Wildings South of the Wall? It's a very weak plot device after all that "We Are the North" junk. To me it just shows that the series, like the books, is sometimes very poorly written. |
Tango01 | 11 May 2016 11:03 a.m. PST |
Seems that people on the North are very savage…! (smile) Amicalement Armand |
