My army project is the allied army at Minden, 1759. It will be a Corps level army so I am going with the Hanoverian von Schelle as my general. Can any one suggest a good staff officer to put with him, and the uniform? I figure he could be from any of the allied entities, but so far have not been able to find much on the subject. Thank you in advance, Terry |

What do you mean with Corps level? At Minden, you have 3 Hannoverian generals commanding. Spörcken, senior general and second in command to Ferdinand, Scheele commanding the column next to the English on the right, and Wangenheim commanding on the far left. All in their regimental uniforms, but seen with hat plumage. Spörcken wore the dress of the Hanoverian Gardes. That'll be the best dress for ADC's and other Hannoverian gents attached to the staff, to my understanding. Also Intelligence is always a good add-on to command stands. Add a Hussar, or a green dressed mounted Jäger officer. If you don't trust them, the help of the Lord might add to the excellence of your command. Add a vicar. Its at your choise. |

Crogge1757, Thanks for the reply. I am specifically referring to von Scheele. I am lead to believe he would wear his regimentals, with a yellow sash around the waist. The figure I have also has a sash over his left shoulder but under his coat (an Essex figure), and not sure what that would be. I had figured adding a Luckner or Hessien hussar – or perhaps a jager officer – good suggestion. Thanks again, Terry |

Christian, Just realized yours is the wonderful site that shows those beautifully painted flats. I tip my hat to you sir! I've only painted a few flats in my years, and they are not easy to paint and look as beautiful as yours do! Terry |

Just FYI. I have decided to go with a Luckner hussar in the second uniform, and I found a great figure to use for him. Not sure if I'll do a junior officer or an other rank though. Terry |
