There are not many Byzantine pictorial sources for the 9th century as there was a period of iconoclasm. One that is from this period is The Chludov Psalter, Moscow, Historical Museum MS 129, Byzantine, 9th century Including images: Chludov Psalter, The song of the three youths, with Daniel in Babylon (Daniel 3, 49-50) Chludov Psalter, Sleeping guards at the sepulcre, Psalm 7, verse 7 Chludov Psalter, Roman custom of proclamation of emperor on the shield. King Hezekiah. Psalm 23, verses 9 – 10 Chludov Psalter, Resurrection. The empty tomb and the sleeping guards. Psalm 30, verses 6 – 7 Chludov Psalter, Attack on a fortress, Psalm 50, verses 3 and 16 Chludov Psalter, Archers shooting at Constantinus I Magnus, Psalm 59, verse 6 Chludov Psalter, Byzantine cavalry and burning houses, Psalm 59 Chludov Psalter, David and soldiers portrayed as Byzantine. Psalm 62, verse 1, A Psalm of David Chludov Psalter, Psalm 68, verses 28, 29, Sepulchre guards bribed by the chief priests Chludov Psalter, After children are murdered, heathen cavalry conquer. Psalm 105, verses 38, 40, 41 Psalm numbers are for the Septuagint. There are a couple of images I haven't found coloured versions of: Chludov Psalter f.18v The wicked bend their bows (Psalm 10) and f.140v Death of Absalom. I anyone can help, let me know.
