So when did the Facebook "like" feature start showing up on Topic pages and Board listings?

John Treadaway07 May 2016 2:39 p.m. PST

I don't understand. Can you post a link for sn example?

See the left side of the screen (at least with my browser).

Yes, I see it too.

Yesthatphil07 May 2016 3:25 p.m. PST

Saw it yesterday … haven't seen it being used … Did wonder …

Phil
EDIT: OK clicked it .. nothing shows (yet) on my Facebook page but the little thumb icon rolled onto a '1' … (I'll let you know if Facebook explodes or similar in due course … ) …

Cerdic07 May 2016 3:40 p.m. PST

I don't do twitface and all that. What happens if I click it? Does the Internet break?

PrivateSnafu07 May 2016 6:04 p.m. PST

I only see it if I turn off my AdBlock on Chrome. And seriously there is about no way I am turning that off. I don't care if I am starting to be blocked out of sites like MarketWatch and Forbes. I am not turning off AdBlock!

Winston Smith07 May 2016 6:41 p.m. PST

I thought it got voted down in polls.
Many times.
Yet, there it is.

Cullen07 May 2016 9:25 p.m. PST

I've made it 6….just wanted to see what happens. Nothing on Facebook, it seems, just an increment on the thumb here on this TMP thread. Seems harmless enough.

Cheers, RC.

It's there on the left. Does this mean I have to sign up with facebook now ?

Or maybe I'll just stick to thumbs up

Seems harmless enough.

That's what they said about Tribbles!

Cullen08 May 2016 9:48 a.m. PST

Indeed!

nazrat08 May 2016 2:10 p.m. PST

Winston, as I remember having an actual "Like" button above each post was voted down. This is a Like button that registers on Facebook about each thread. Different, and innocuous, especially if you don't use Facebook ( and actively HATE it for some strange reason) like many Luddites who post here.

Hey, I'm proud to be a neo-Luddite!! grin beer thumbs up

As long as we don't have a reddit-style up/down vote system, Im happy.

Stryderg09 May 2016 5:56 a.m. PST

And I'm proud to be a Luddite who manages a computer network for a living. Yeah, I know.

Allen5709 May 2016 4:49 p.m. PST

Way too many of the wargame companies and gaming subjects I like are showing up on Facebook. I have tried to learn to use it but as far as I am concerned Facebook sucks. My wife has no problems with Facebook on an iPad but we both find much that is incomprehensible about Facebook on a PC. I suppose in some ways I am a Luddite but I do enjoy my PC and the internet immensely. That enjoyment does not extend to Facebook. I am a Facebook Luddite.
