So after having stuck to modern and ultra modern periods the battlefield series is going to WW1, so far it's been recived very well(people where very tried of US VS Russia VS China thing.

So this is seen a a fresh thing to do.

Call of duty on the other hand has gotton lots and lots of flak for going full sci fi.

It beeing a Battelfied game, it will have a quasi hollywood action realism. But might still be fun.

For those wanting more realism you have Verdun, a small indy game out on steam, that is very good.

Its an 'interesting' change as Call of Duty seems to be heading firmly into Sci-fi territory, so its nice that Battlefield is trying to go in an alternative direction.

It'll probably be pretty dumb but it'll also be pretty good fun :)

I imagine I'll pick up both COD and Battlefield this year.
