In the Frostgrave campaign supplement "Thaw Of The Lich Lord" a new soldier type is introduced, the Crow Master. The Crow Master has an unimpressive stat line but may bring along a Blood Crow, an animal companion with a similarly unimpressive stat line. High armor, granted, but as an Animal loses much of the utility that comes with an impressively high movement and ignoring obstacles. Am I missing something cool about this Soldier type? Has anyone had any great successes with them? |

only 25 points – can carry loot away while crow bothers people. I don't really see it as a good troop type |

Javelineer is 25, Crow Master is 100. WAY too much for what he brings to the warband, IMO. |

The crow can fly…that's worth something. Also, IIRC, the crow is expendable: if it dies, you get a new one for free. Also, you are getting two units for a single soldier slot, right? (I don't have the rules in front of me though.) |
