I picked up the new NECA Cinemachines Diecast Dropship and APC. For use with my SciFi gaming.
Giving the pictures online I was wondering if it would work better with 6mm or 15mm, as it turns out I think I can use it for both… Well at least the Dropship. The Dropship can work as a nice attack aircraft for 15mm, the missile pods in front flip up and the middle ones flip over and out just like the movie. It comes with a plastic APC that works well with 6mm which with the Dropship being used as a Dropship is a nice 6mm addition. I've also order their diecast APC and although it might be small for 28mm, or at least not as big as the khurasan resin model, it might work for 20mm or for some 28mm kit bashing. I'll send an update on that when it arrives. I'll also post pics of the Dropship with some 15mm and 6mm vehicles tonight for a comparison. Moe |

Here is a comparison. The silver items are Old Crow 6mm Slammer's jeep and tank, the mech is from Khurasan and is 15mm. The 15mm Slammer's combat car is from Ainsty. There is also a 15mm Power Armor infantry and walker from MicroPanzer.(in White)

And of course the Green APc is the one that comes with the dropship. |

Does the weapon mount on the APC move into the deployed position? |

Nope. I think you could cut it off and put it on top. ALthough it wouldn't fit back in Dropship after that. |

I just bought 2 of these…I wonder if it would work in 15mm as a troop dropship, just not with the APC, troops only? Perhaps at a push… Brian |

It's a push as regards the cockpit being small. |

Yeah, that's what stands out to me…I think having it mostly fly in as a support dropship would work. I wanted to do some actual size comparisons last night, but it got incredibly busy when I got in from work! So, I'll try again tonight…lol Brian |

I compared some GZG NAC and UNSC/Heavies to the Cheyenne…it's odd to me, if I ignore the cockpit, the rest seems to fit fairly well with 15mm. The cockpit will look tiny, but I can ignore that just for the cool factor! I apologize, I didn't get a chance to take a pic, I'll try to this weekend if anyone is interested. Thanks, Brian |
