With the 100yh anniversary of Jutland only a few weeks away, are you marking the occasion in a wargaming event? I'm taking part in a refight of the battle at the National Museum of the Royal Navy in Portsmouth organised by the Naval Wargames Society, and I'm aware of two other refight in the UK in Bristol and Leeds. So what else does anyone have planned? |

I'm running a 1/2400 FAI game of the battlecruiser action at Enfilade in Olympia, Washington on May 28. It won't quite be a full simulation of history – I'm planning to scale the action to the number of players in the game, in order to make it move at a reasonable pace and keep the players involved (but not overwhelmed). Each player will command at least one BC, plus one CL and a half flotilla of 4-6 DDs. I'll keep a reserve of the remaining light forces (if any), the 5th BS (4x Queen Elizabeths) and the 3rd BCS (Invincible, Inflexible, Indomitable) so I can throw them on the table to rebalance the game if needed. If the Germans need heavier reinforcements, well… too bad I guess. If I start the HSF battlefleet steaming onto the table, the game will pretty much grow too big and involved to play anymore. I have most of the vessels needed to do the entirety of Jutland in 1/6000 (I probably need a few more destroyers…), and that's a much more reasonable scale to play out the whole battle, so I'm still considering attempting a full-scale GQ2 game later this year. We'll see. - Ix |

I'm hoping to do a very modest refight at the Sheffield Wargames Society on 1st June using rules that Martin Rapier and I have adapted from "1 hour ww2 Naval Warfare" by richinq found on the AMW Yahoo Group (they are a variant of Neil Thomas's "One Hour Wargames"). An report on an earlier game can be found here: link The rules and scenario can be found in the files section of the AWM Yahoo Group. |

I am part way between Bristol and Portsmouth so have a quandary as to which to attend. It will probably be the latter as it is 1:3000, although it is further away. It should be worth using up a day of my leave entitlement. |

I'll be running a WW1 naval game down the club on the day to commemorate. Hopefully follow up with a larger game at a later date with the full OOB, but haven't decided on the best format yet. Preparing both sides in 1/6000 and behind schedule! Cheers, Wilf |

I'm planning on running a game for our club night in Leuchars that week. Probably the 'Run to the South', or something based on that, since I don't have the models or the time at club night to take on the whole battle. I have both Battlecruiser forces most of the other bits for the opening moves in 1:3000. Trying to decide between Naval Thunder and FAI rules. |

I will be running a Jutland scenario at HISTORICON in Fredericksburg, Virginia in July. My idea is to match up roughly the front half of the German battleship line with roughly the back half of the British battleship line. The inspiration for this is the second meeting of the battle lines that occurred after the Germans turned east and bumped into the British battle line for a second time. There will be about 12 battleships on each side. I don't want to attempt any more than that. I will be using Fleet Action Imminent (FAI). My models are NAVWAR 1/3000. |

We are planning a refight using maps for strategic movement and Naval Thunder: Clash of Dreadnaughts for the battles. |

Hi I will be running a double blind game of Avalon Hill's Jutland.

The Jackson Gamers will be doing a game using the venerable "Jutland" rules by Avalon Hill and 1:6000 scale ship models glued directly to the Jutland counters. The game will be on Memorial Day (May 30) which is as close as we can get to the actual anniversary. Previous Jutland-era games from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away: link link Jim |

I believe the Gourock club will be doing Jutland at Carronade tomorrow. |

Our refight in Leeds is in November, which thankfully will give me more time to finish painting the ships ! I will be marking the anniversary by working a late shift. Regards Ken yarkshiregamer.blogspot.co.uk |

Our naval gaming group in Austin, at Great Hall Games, is planning a BC clash on the 29th followed by a partial BB fight on June 5. We'll be using Fleet Action Imminent by ODWG. The reminder of Memorial Day makes that a possibility for the BB game! |

I'm working on running the Battelcruiser action at Jutland at the GReat Lakes Naval Museum in Muskeon in early June. I'm thinking seriously of contacting the folks at the LST 393 Museum as well and running it there as well. I too will be using GQ3: Fleet Action Imminent for the rules. |

Our group played the Run to the North yesterday up at the club (Wellington Warlords). Warspite and Valiant took a pounding from the German 4th and 5th Battle Squadrons, but are still handing it out. We played the Light Cruiser action last weekend and will be doing the Battleship engagement next meeting (21st). All done with GQ-FAI in 1/6000th. Cheers David |
