Okay, if you're still reading and you don't want to see a spoiler drop out now. While I agree that the second episode was truly awesome (it's pretty hard to beat "I drink and I know things" (I'm going to have a glass made with that) I think that now that "Lord Commander" Snow is alive we're ignoring the foreshadowing. Bran in his vision saw his Father and Uncle Benjen as young men and his Aunt Lyanna. Now why was that? In the preview for next week's episode it looks as though a young Ned Stark is about to square off against Arthur Dayne at the Tower of Joy. Are we about to get an answer to Jon's actual parents? Will we find out that Jon is not only a Stark but a Targaryen as well? Will we see him lead a Wilding Army and take back Winterfell (Melisandre's vision come true, only with Jon instead of Stannis)? And is Jon actually heir to the North and all Westeros? The whole world wonders.

HBO is slashing useless plot digressions. I bet Aegon goes the way of Arianna Martel. |

I have to agree, after all Jorah has taken Jon Connington's place as the victim of greyscale and they cut a lot of Dany's forays in Meereen down to nothing (which actually I like, Aegon's story and Dany's marriage felt like filler anyway). They got Tyrion to Dany without any of the Penny sidestory and they didn't even mess with the whole "Quentyn has a deal for Dany" thing. It does look as though HBO and the series have decided to just push the story forward. Now if they would just ignore the Dorne stuff maybe we could really get moving. I used to like the books more than the series but I have to admit that I am now a series fan. The books are just too plodding for me (and hey, I read "Moby Dick" and enjoyed it!)

Is John alive or undead? With no Lady Stoneheart is John going to be Lord Stoneheart? You couldn't see if his stab wounds were closed or not in the scene when he gasps and sits up. Grimm |

Yeah, showing Lyanna was the real surprise for me. My friend was all "I KNEW IT!!" when Jon woke up, as the rest of us just rolled out eyes – we ALL knew that was coming. Lyanna, however, can really only be important if there's another Targaryen around. :) |

I'm assuming that he's more like Beric Dondarrion than Undead Catelyn. Catelyn's throat was cut after all and her body was in the river for days before she was resurrected and time seems to be a factor. Catelyn was past her "best if used by date". Lyanna, however, can really only be important if there's another Targaryen around. :) I think so too, she's sort of been this ghost, flitting around the edges of the story. You figure that there has to be something really important there, that she means more than just allowing Robert to rebel against the Targaryens. After all Ned always got quiet when Robert talked about her, that Ned knew that Lyanna wasn't raped. Ned just wasn't the type to have an affair and then to fling the bastard in Catelyn's face unless their was a really important reason for him to keep Jon around. Of course if Jon was a Targaryen then Ned would have to keep that quiet around Robert as well in fear that Robert would kill the boy. Of course this would also make Dany Jon's half sister. |

Yup. And lest we forget, Stannis noted "that [having a bastard] wasn't Ned Stark's way." So the clues are all there, and I think the only way it won't happen is if GRRM, taking his own sweet time, got peeved that fans figured it out, and decided to change it in the notes. ;) |

So what you are saying is that my prediction that Jon Snow may come out of this as king may actually come true? Who woulda thunk? Oh yeah. It is just formula writing. |

The T shirt quote I want is If I lost my cock I'd drink all the time What is interesting is that Jon has (technically) fulfilled his vow to the Night's Watch Oh, and the Frey's will NOT be happy. Of course this would also make Dany Jon's half sister. A perfect union! |

the Frey's will NOT be happy The Frey's will have get theirs. They have no friends. But Ramsey killed the only individual that could get him what he wants, his father. Roose Bolton was a dick but he knew how to play the game. Ramsey does not know how to play the game. Oh and he is going to need far more than "20 Good Men" if he goes against Castle Black now. |

And right after dad told him what happened to mad dogs, too! I think even he got the irony. It looks to me like he figured that a rash, preemptive strike was his only option, and that he's winging it without a safety net. I think he's about to play Kaiser Bill to his pop's Bismarck. I hope that maester can live with himself. |

At this point I would love to see everyone cheer Jon as the guy with "the prophecy covering his back" and then run into a blitzkrieging Ramsey Bolton leaving a dead and maimed cast behind him and really Chernobilize Jon with prejudice. And just when Bolton has finished jumping up and down on Cersei's head after he (censored) her with the hand he just chopped off Jaimie and is about to plonk his butt on the Iron Throne, the Walkers arrive, turn him into a popsicle, and take control over Westeros and turn out to be the harsh, but probably fairest rules that thrice damned place ever had … |
