The Lads and I are currently sorting out out Lobositz game for Derby later this year. I think (fingers crossed) that we now have the OOB and layout finalised. For those who saw us at the show last year (we were doing Marignano 1515, and won Best demo at show) we will be in the same spot this year. Following on from my 'first fix' post, I've done another on some of changes we've made to the layout and why, and I've done an OOB with command structure and some 'why the fudge' notes. Those with an interest in scenarios development might find it interesting, or not, as the case may be. link

Interesting discussion on "working out one of the harder parts to get right – Gessler's suicidal cavalry attack", though as you state, it is more from the POV of board/initial set up. What are your ideas/plans for the actual game? I had thought to add a scenario rule to make Gessler "impetuous", much like many Ancients rules (i.e. his cavalry would have to charge if they were within so many inches of the enemy, or some such); however, I think a savvy Prussian commander would just hold them back out of range (unless perhaps he didn't know about the special rule…). You might also see the Austrians "draw them out", again like what happens in many Ancients rules, and that would seem a little gamey (again, unless perhaps the Austrian side didn't know about the special rule too…).
